Presswire is an editorial WordPress theme for sites that write about games the way a magazine does: with opinions, scores and a front page that feels edited rather than generated. A front page that leads with a story

One lead story gets the top of the page, with a short list of other picks beside it. Tick Editor’s Pick on any post or game to put it in the running, or leave it alone and the newest piece leads. Below that, Latest Reviews and Latest News can be dragged into any order or hidden.

Reviews that show their working

Every game review pulls in the facts automatically: release date, platforms, developer, publisher, IGDB rating, screenshots and genre tags. Add a Review Breakdown and the score appears per criterion, such as gameplay, graphics and sound, as stars, points or a percentage.

Lists, not grids

Reviews, genres, platforms and news are laid out as clean index rows: a thumbnail, a headline, a one-line summary and the key facts. Game lists run A to Z so readers can scan them like a contents page, and search looks at titles only, so results stay relevant.

Built for game data

Pair Presswire with the GameSync Game Data Importer and your reviews arrive with their cover art, facts and screenshots already in place. The companion plugins add reader star ratings, hand-picked Related Games and the Review Breakdown. Without them, Presswire is still a good-looking news and blog theme.

Your sidebar, your rules

The sidebar shows Latest Reviews and Editor’s Picks, plus browse-by-genre and by-platform lists on game pages. Reorder the blocks, hide the ones you don’t need, or add your own widgets.

Make it earn

Five ad slots are ready to go: three in the sidebar and two on the homepage. Paste in an ad network’s code or upload a banner with a link. An empty slot shows nothing, and the slots can be moved around like any other section.

Your look

Choose your accent colour, show or hide the dateline bar, decide how many items each section shows, pick which facts appear on a game page, and write your own footer. There are no accounts or pop-ups by design, so the writing stays in front.
